Kyrish Truck Centers in Texas are looking for Diesel Technicians or mechanics to repair and maintain diesel engines that power heavy and medium duty trucks and buses.


Diesel Service Technicians and Mechanics


Experienced diesel technicians must be able to perform all standard truck repairs in addition to identifying and troubleshooting vehicle issues. You will be utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic methods, tools, and software. Certified professionals can earn competitive wages and excellent benefit packages. Some technicians may be required to work with their own tools.

Description of Employment


The job description for our journeyman diesel technician position includes:


  • Repair Class 4,5,6,7 and 8 International trucks including engines (Cummins, International and CAT), HVAC, instruments, brakes, frame, steering, suspension, tires, wheels, drive train, electrical system and other components
  • Diagnose failures of all makes vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
  • Computer-based diagnostics; interface with modern truck programs
  • Basic computer skills needed for data entry into maintenance systems
  • Identify warrantable International truck repairs and document on repair order
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles as required
  • Other duties assigned per supervisor




Applicants must have the following qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, background check and physical exam
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, a CDL Class A or B is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Own set of tools to perform vehicle repairs


Helpful Skills


Some of the helpful skills potential diesel service technicians and mechanics should possess include:


  • Background working knowledge of Navistar International trucks, Cummins and CAT engines
  • ASE certifications
  • Cummins/CAT/OEM Manufacturer Certifications
  • 609 Air Conditioning/Refrigerant handling certification
  • Understanding of electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems
  • Bilingual ability (written and spoken English and Spanish)
